Your role at Baxter!

As part of Baxter's digital transformation initiative, a solution architect will fulfill a key role in designing and implementing comprehensive technology solutions that address specific business needs of the Global, Business Segments and Site Quality Organizations. With a deep understanding of various technologies, system/solution architects work closely with partners, developers, and IT professionals to build a cohesive and efficient system that meets the organization's strategic goals.

What you will be doing:

  1. Executive-level strategic advisors who focus on business transformation.
  2. Defining and detailing the overall solution architecture ensuring alignment with business objectives and requirements.
  3. Working together with business analysts, project managers, end-users, and process owners to comprehend their needs and requirements for technology solutions.
  4. Solving sophisticated, large-scale end-user process requirements to produce solutions that improve end-user process execution and efficiency.
  5. Evaluating various technologies and platforms and selecting the most appropriate technologies and platforms for the solution while considering cost, performance, and compatibility with existing infrastructure.
  6. Communicating design tradeoffs optimally to partners and providing a delivery framework that ensures system quality and success.
  7. Developing and maintaining architectural standards and best practices.
  8. Ensuring that the solution meets performance, scalability, and security requirements while continuously seeking opportunities for improvements.
  9. Providing technical mentorship and support to development teams to help them implement solutions and resolve any issues.
  10. Identifying and mitigating potential risks and issues related to the solution to ensure project success.
  11. Optimally connecting with various teams to ensure a cohesive approach to the project.

What do you bring:

  1. A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
  2. 8 years of experience in software development, systems engineering, or a similar IT role.
  3. Solid understanding of various technologies, platforms, and architectural patterns.
  4. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  6. Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  7. Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools.
  8. Proficient in various technologies and platforms to design effective solutions and meet business needs.
  9. Must be able to analyze complex business requirements and identify the most suitable technology to address them.
  10. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and across teams.

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $120,000 - $165,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses and/or long-term incentives.
