As the Director, Claims Commercial Trucking, you'll lead a skilled team in shaping the future of claims management in the commercial trucking sector. Your decisions will drive real change and make a tangible difference. Be at the forefront of constructing an operational framework for commercial trucking claims from inception. Your expertise will shape best-in-class processes and set new standards for the industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take the lead in interviewing and selecting top talent for our claim’s operations. Guide and mentor associates through performance appraisals, salary adjustments, and disciplinary actions, ensuring a high-performing team.
- Direct the technical and clerical activities of our field and staff claims operations including commercial trucking claims handling and litigation.
- Coordinate technical and clerical claims business with other departments at GEICO.
- Utilize your expertise in trucking claims to identify gaps in our claims processes. Address and solve gaps in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Establish best-in-class claims processes for physical damage and casualty claims, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness.
- Recommend the selection and termination of independent adjusters and attorneys, optimizing our external resources.
- Attend claim trials and direct the attendance of staff and independent claims personnel.
- Authorize loss and expense payments within the division's authority, ensuring compliance with company guidelines.
- Prepare department business plans, staffing projections, and budgets, reviewing them periodically to achieve cost reduction and operational efficiency.
- Adhere to the GEICO Code of Conduct, the GEICO Claims Code of Conduct, company policies and operating principles.
- Meet attendance standard at business location to perform necessary job functions and to facilitate interaction with subordinates and management.
Qualifications:
- Proven track record in leadership roles, specifically within commercial trucking claims.
- Extensive experience in commercial trucking claims handling and litigation, demonstrating deep understanding and proficiency.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and strategic judgment, enabling effective resolution of complex business challenges utilizing strong conflict resolution, organizational and priority setting skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, handling heavy call volume and resolving complicated customer issues with professionalism and efficiency.
- Must be able to, with or without accommodation, perform the essential functions which include, but are not limited to seeing, hearing, typing, and speaking.

Annual Salary:
$127,000.00 - $198,000.00
The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
