THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Drug and Alcohol Licensing Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring facilities and recovery houses are providing drug and/or alcohol treatment services to individuals with complex addictions and co-occurring disorders in a safe environment where effective treatment can be provided. This includes determining federal and state regulatory licensing compliance, providing technical assistance, consultation, and administrative support, as well as acting as a liaison between drug and alcohol treatment facilities, recovery houses and other service providers, federal and state government entities, and funding sources.
Work includes conducting on-site licensing inspections of profit, non-profit, and county government managed drug and alcohol treatment programs in Pennsylvania providing drug and alcohol treatment, prevention, and intervention services to ensure compliance with federal and stated applicable laws, regulations and standards. The providers range in size and complexity from sole proprietorships and partnerships to large corporate institutions. The inspection of a single activity in a drug and alcohol free-standing facility will require the review and application of over 250 independent regulations. This position gives you the opportunity to evaluate and process administrative and program materials, including applications and payments as well as review and assess documents such as policies and procedures.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment, home headquartered
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Frequent travel, overnight travel, and overtime may be required as needed.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • One year of professional experience gathering and analyzing information in a social services, human services, healthcare services, or law enforcement program; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirements:
  • You must possess an active motor vehicle license.
