Responsibilities of the Construction Estimator:
- Develop accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for plumbing construction projects.
- Assess project plans, specifications, and related documents to determine project needs.
- Conduct site visits to gather critical information for precise estimating.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to collect essential data for estimates.
- Manage the bid strategy and proposal process both internally and externally, providing competitive analysis and preparing pricing proposals.
- Conduct risk assessments, create estimates, and identify equipment and material requirements.
- Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain the best pricing.
- Review and analyze contract documents to ensure they meet project specifications.
- Track project costs throughout the construction process and recommend cost-saving measures.
- Support the development of project budgets and schedules.
Requirements of Construction Estimator:
- At least 5 years of experience in plumbing construction estimating or a similar role.
- HVAC estimating experience is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management or a related field is preferred.
- Demonstrated success in estimating projects while adhering to budgetary constraints.
- Experience managing multiple bids throughout the entire bidding process.
- Proficient in interpreting and understanding drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
Salary:
$110,000-$115,000 per year
