Lone Star is seeking a Senior Systems Technical Manager experienced working with the military and the supplier, with particular emphasis on F-35 Integration, testing support, and managing aspects of the Weapon Data link activities. This position is instrumental to the company’s future growth and diversification efforts. In this position, the individual establishes and matures client relationships, solves problems related to data links, recognizes roadblocks, issues, and processes detrimental to customer success, and works with the weapon supplier on integration to ensure customer schedule is met. The position reports to the VP, Systems Engineering and Integration Solutions and works closely with members of each line of business.
Responsibilities
- Understands and can communicate customer needs and critical path with regards to Weapon Data Link procurement, testing, and Integration.
- Understands USAF/Navair processes, procedures, and acquisition policies.
- Experienced in Weapon Data link usage and problem-solving in a new Integration environment.
- Works through issues with Foreign Military programs especially around Weapon Data Links.
- Comprehends Export Compliance.
- Communicates and presents to both small group settings and Board rooms internally and externally.
- Utilizes organizational skills and is capable of operating within teams, as well as independently.
- Provides market feedback to the company leadership regarding competitive offerings, prospect needs, and generates product development ideas.
- Protects company proprietary, private, and competitive information.
Minimum Requirements
- Advanced degree in Systems Engineering or equivalent experience required.
- Minimum five years of experience in government contracting, acquisition position, program management, or technical leadership position.
- Technical knowledge of the operation of Weapon Data links; issues arising during development and integration, and support required during operational testing.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to see the big picture yet focus on small details; excellent collaboration skills.
- Highly organized, technically skilled with Microsoft Office suite.
- Effective time management skills.
- Minimum of five years of experience managing Weapon Data Link Programs.
- Capable of obtaining a US Government clearance at Secret or above within six months.
