We are looking for a highly motivated VP of Sales Development to lead and drive our North America sales efforts, driving exceptional market positioning and brand presentations at our select sales channels and partnerships. You will be responsible for driving growth and leading our sales team in both existing and emerging sales channels, alongside the Global Product and Marketing organizations, to bring our product presentations to life through physical and digital customer / partner touch points.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The VP of Sales Development is responsible for achieving our strategic sales goals driving brand growth through sell-in and sell-through efforts across all North America wholesale sales channels. The position requires extensive experience in sales and business development in a multi-channel wholesale business with a deep understanding of how to drive sales opportunities in today’s retail climate. The right candidate will have a proven track record of delivering innovative, high performing business development efforts resulting in both new customer acquisition as well as strengthening existing key account partnerships.

This leader is responsible for also leading the sales organization with a creative and entrepreneurial mindset ensuring the sales team is supported to achieve sales budgets with effectiveness, efficiency and a strong ROI. Understanding and actively participating in the sales process, this role will drive Manduka’s sales presence in all wholesale markets alongside the sales team to achieve best in class brand presentations.

We're looking for an extraordinary sales leader who can hit the ground running. The right candidate will maintain a strong bias for communication and action.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create and activate brand sales plan guided by Manduka’s strategic initiatives. Develop sales plans, implement and execute against growth targets.
  • Proactively identify and bring to market new business development partnerships aligned to strategic objectives.
  • Monitor and review analytics related to customers, market and competitor activity to inform strategy on expanding the business and improving customer satisfaction.
  • Manage ongoing KPI performance to ensure ROI of investments in current and new markets.
  • Partner closely with the Global Product team to create sales presentations / assortments to ensure our most important product stories come to life through physical and digital consumer touch points.
  • Forge relationships and build partnerships that drive credibility and awareness for the brand.
  • Manage, develop and direct team of sales professionals supporting the organization to ensure coordination of cross-functional activities and team alignment.
  • Manage budgets and P&L for sales organization across the Americas.

QUALITIES / QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be highly driven, self-starting and have a track record for developing, sourcing and closing significant new business and business development partnerships. In addition, candidate must possess:

  • Strong proficiency in retail math and partnership P&L profitability modeling.
  • Proven success in sales leadership / key account management for a premium brand.
  • Proven team management of sales representatives achieving their sales targets for regions, key accounts, and new business development.
  • Affinity for growth minded brand programs driven by partnerships, PR, collaborations.
  • Ability to successfully navigate and influence a matrixed organization.
  • A passion for yoga and a healthy lifestyle.
  • A high-degree of taste and sensibility.
  • Best in class communication skills.
  • Strong business acumen, attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent collaboration, co-creation, and influencing skills demonstrated across different levels and functions.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/EDUCATION:

  • Years of related Leadership Experience: 10+ years.
  • Bachelor's degree (preferably in business, marketing or related field).
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word) leveraging AI for efficiency.
  • Ability to create and deliver brand and product presentations.
  • Strong verbal and communication skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Willing to travel.

Local candidates only. This is a hybrid role and will require working at our El Segundo office on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
