In this role you will:
  • Provide education and support to service recipients for every phase of the journey from engagement, treatment initiation, stabilization, and relapse.
  • OUD support planning - facilitate transition from a professionally directed service plan to a self-directed service. The goal is to transition from professionally assisted recovery initiation to personally directed, community supported recovery maintenance.
  • Promote self-advocacy by assisting persons with OUD to have their voices fully heard; their needs, goals and objectives established as the focal point of rehabilitation and clinical services.
  • Actively identify, maintain, and support linkages to community resources (communities of recovery, educational, vocational, social, cultural, spiritual resources, mutual self- help groups, professional services, harm reduction programs etc.) that support each individual person's goals and interests.
  • Develop relationships with peer recovery coaches, community groups/agencies in partnership with others in the agency.
  • Identify barriers for individuals with OUD (internal and external) to full participation in community resources and develop strategies to overcome those barriers.
The successful applicant will offer:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Massachusetts peer specialist certification.
  • Knowledge of recovery-based concepts.
  • Lived experience with OUD, either with immediate family or self.
  • Good communication skills, good organizational skills, personal resilience.
  • Limited travel to trainings and conferences may be required.
  • History of good attendance and positive work attitude.
  • Maintain solid foundation in personal recover.
