In this role you will:
- Provide education and support to service recipients for every phase of the journey from engagement, treatment initiation, stabilization, and relapse.
- OUD support planning - facilitate transition from a professionally directed service plan to a self-directed service. The goal is to transition from professionally assisted recovery initiation to personally directed, community supported recovery maintenance.
- Promote self-advocacy by assisting persons with OUD to have their voices fully heard; their needs, goals and objectives established as the focal point of rehabilitation and clinical services.
- Actively identify, maintain, and support linkages to community resources (communities of recovery, educational, vocational, social, cultural, spiritual resources, mutual self- help groups, professional services, harm reduction programs etc.) that support each individual person's goals and interests.
- Develop relationships with peer recovery coaches, community groups/agencies in partnership with others in the agency.
- Identify barriers for individuals with OUD (internal and external) to full participation in community resources and develop strategies to overcome those barriers.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Massachusetts peer specialist certification.
- Knowledge of recovery-based concepts.
- Lived experience with OUD, either with immediate family or self.
- Good communication skills, good organizational skills, personal resilience.
- Limited travel to trainings and conferences may be required.
- History of good attendance and positive work attitude.
- Maintain solid foundation in personal recover.
