Purpose of Position:

Irca Group is seeking an experienced Engineering Project Manager to lead projects for our various manufacturing sites around the US. You will lead various projects facing on production line changes, capital projects and other duties as assigned. The role does require the ability to travel up to 50% annually around the US. We are ideally seeking someone who has led project budgets of Minimum $5M and up to $50M preferred. This position can be based from home, but you must be open to travel domestically as needed.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Lead Engineer for process engineering discipline on capital projects - project management, budget, schedule management, construction management, start-up and project close-out and commissioning.
  • Develops scope, cost estimation, system design, procurement, installation, check-out.
  • Confirms to IRCA Group specifications and sanitary design and construction standards. Partners with IRCA group internal engineering standards owners to clarify and refine specifications.
  • Partners with key stakeholders including operations team, HSE team, R&D, quality, manufacturing, Maintenance, scheduling, operations leadership, and financial operations.
  • Partners and collaborates in engineering design with other stakeholders at IRCA Group.
  • Lead and direct external engineering team within the processing engineering discipline.
  • Develops and owns capital budgets within the process discipline including tracking, reporting and communications, asset close-out and accurately managing spend to budget and timing commitments.
  • Manages authorizations for purchase orders and contracts for equipment and installations including development of bid packages and bidding work.
  • Supports construction activities, ensures field installations and construction meets design expectations, leads decisions and authorizations for field changes.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or related degree with applicable experience or extensive relevant work experience, Mechanical or Chemical Engineer preferred Agricultural engineering.
  • 7+ years in relevant Engineering experience – Background in project engineering preferred.
  • Effectively involves, collaborates, negotiates, and makes decisions with multiple stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in accounting including cost estimation, cost tracking and tightly managing budgets.
  • Leadership of external engineering firms.
  • Travel estimated to be 50%.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Capital project execution experience for multiple concurrent projects.
  • Construction management experience.
  • Experience with contract negotiations for engineering services and construction.
  • Thorough understanding of Food Manufacturing Regulatory Requirements (GMP’s, Food Safety, etc.). Experience working with EPA and OHSA regulations.
  • Food manufacturing experience.
