Hybrid 3 days onsite

18 Month W2 Contract

$60-$70/hour



The Commodities Front Office Technology team are looking to add a Python developer.


Responsibilities will include:

  • Writing intelligent, efficient and easily maintainable code to enable our Commodities Traders to efficiently manage their positions
  • Helping to on-board the remaining Commodities desks (including power, index and precious) to our new Live/Intraday Risk Engine
  • Contributing to the enhancement of existing Greeks, Scenarios and PnL feeds for Market Risk and Middle Office.
  • Development of commodities specific regulatory risk reporting (FRTB/SFRC)
  • Involvement with cutting edge projects which aspire to consolidate trade capture, pricing and risk generation across many Lines of Business (FICC Equities)


There are equivalent Front Office technology teams across other Lines of Business, with which the candidate will need to collaborate effectively.

  • The team partners closely with new members enabling them to learn the Commodities business, become familiar FO risk technology stack, and establish relationships with Traders and Quants.
  • The candidate will be required to liaise regularly with Front Office and Finance - so strong communication skills are vital.
  • Structured software development experience (3 years+ python preferred, but were open to other OO languages)
  • Solid communication skills, with the ability to develop strong relationships with the business
  • Collaborative software development approach Self motivated and driven to provide solutions for complicated problems, both technical and financial
  • Experience with pricing and analytics for Commodities derivatives, or other financial asset classes
  • Experience working on (or closely with) a trading desk at a bank or on the buy side
  • Experience with Agile development practices
