We are seeking to fill a role for one of Chemical Companies for a Research & Development (R&D) Manager - Preference for Chemical Battery Industry
Technical Expertise:
• Utilize in-depth knowledge of chemical processes to formulate solutions enhancing battery performance.
• Stay abreast of advancements in the electrified vehicle and energy storage industry to drive continuous improvement.
Patenting and Intellectual Property Management:
• Develop and implement strategies for patenting new discoveries and solutions.
• Manage intellectual property portfolios, ensuring protection of valuable innovations.
Customer Response and Technical Problem Solving:
• Respond promptly to customer requests, providing technical insights and solutions.
• Lead the resolution of technical problems in both field and lab environments.
Team Leadership:
• Manage a team of R&D engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
• Set clear objectives and performance expectations for the R&D team.
Agile R&D Management:
• Implement agile methodologies to enhance responsiveness to market demands and technological advancements.
• Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of R&D projects on time and within budget.
Technical Center Management:
• Manage the operations of the technical R&D center, ensuring optimal utilization of resources.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align R&D efforts with business goals.
Global Reporting:
• Provide regular updates and reports to the global R&D leadership.
• Contribute insights and recommendations to the overarching innovation strategy.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor Degree Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field; relevant industry experience is essential.
• 10-year proven experience in the battery R&D with a focus on chemical formulation.
• Strong understanding of patenting processes and intellectual property management.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage an R&D team.
Salary range $127K - $152K plus bonus and benefits.
