Accounting Manager
Your Role:
Ginger Labs pioneered the concept of digital paper when it released Notability in 2010 alongside the first iPad. 14 years later, we are developing the next generation of digital paper, enabling live collaboration on all digital platforms, improving the productivity of people in all walks of life. This new chapter of Notability unlocks new audiences, richer functionality, and expands our addressable market by billions.
Ginger Labs is looking for a full-time Accounting Manager to be both a financial and planning partner to the CFO while overseeing the accounting operations of Ginger Lab’s software subscription business. The ideal candidate for this role should have experience as an accounting manager in a subscription business, with significant hands-on qualifications for maintaining accounting, payroll and financial systems.
This role is hybrid, 2+ days per week in the San Francisco office, and other days from home.
What You’ll Do:
- Manage day to day business operations, including payroll, expense accounting, accounts payable and receivable.
- Ensure and prepare monthly financial statements, interpret the results, and communicate the financial results to the CFO.
- Provide sound analysis, management and planning support for all of Ginger Labs’ finance and accounting activities.
- Partner and communicate with our insurance stakeholders, keeping track of all necessary documentation, paying close attention to any policy changes, important deadlines, and legal regulations.
- Coordinate the preparation of documents and schedules for internal and external audits for multi-state employee population.
- Prepare local tax returns such as San Francisco payroll tax returns and property tax returns.
- Address audit findings and implement recommendations.
- Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Monitor financial reports and determine ways to reduce costs.
- Own the month-end and year-end closing processes.
What You Need:
- 5+ years of accounting experience in a technology firm.
- Knowledge of Quickbooks Online software.
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business, finance, or a related field.
- Strong technical knowledge of GAAP.
- Insurance coverage knowledge.
- Demonstrated experience as a strategic thought partner.
- Demonstrated ability to forge mutually respectful relationships and strong partnerships across the company.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
Bonus Qualifications:
- Professional certification (e.g., CPA).
- Familiarity with Apple ecosystem.
- Familiarity with running a WFOE in China.

For this position, we are targeting a base pay between $104,000.00-$157,000.00. Actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
