Job Summary:
Due to accelerated company growth, the Payroll Specialist will provide support to the Payroll team, under the direction of COO.
Essential Job Functions:
Prepare payroll for assigned clients;
Review time records for accuracy and compliance;
Maintain accurate payroll records;
Maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs);
Effectively engage with clients and worksite employees, providing payroll guidance, answering questions and other assistance needed;
Complete payroll-related audits, forms and other information, as necessary;
Any other duties as assigned by the COO.
Qualifications:
Associate’s Degree in Accounting or related discipline, preferred;
1-3 years payroll and/or accounting experience;
Knowledge of wage & hour legislation and regulations, particularly in CA;
Proficiency in the Microsoft suite of products, specifically to include Excel, Word, in addition to relevant accounting software packages;
Experience in multiple payroll platforms, preferred;
FCP or CPP certification preferred
Proficiency in operating office equipment to include PCs, copiers, fax machine and 10-key calculator;
Proficiency in creating and maintaining Excel spreadsheets and automated accounting systems;
Exceptional attention to detail capabilities, ability to proofread work and present finished product error-free;
Efficient multi-tasker and ability to prioritize work-load and complete in a timely manner;
Proficient oral and written communication skills, including excellent grammar, spelling and proof-reading skills;
Ability to work with minimum supervision, after training period.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and possess excellent customer service capabilities.
Working Hours:
8:00AM – 5:00PM Monday through Friday, with 2 10-minute breaks and 1 hour for lunch.
Compensation:
$22.00 - $25.00 per hour DOE, plus excellent benefits paid 100% by employer for the employee.
