The role you’ll contribute:

The Logistics Manager provides day-to-day management of the AdventHealth courier and mailroom operations by collaborating effectively with the operations staff across multiple regions. Is responsible for hiring, scheduling, staff training and development, coordination with third-party courier vendors and vehicle maintenance. Reviews and provides data regarding stat and routine pickups and projections of courier work and costs. Plans, implements and reviews courier routes and schedules. Performs expected laboratory courier duties as necessary. Ensures adherance of staff, as well as personal accountability, to the Advent Health Corporate Compliance Plan and to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state and federal agencies and accrediting bodies. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

  • Ensures hospital vehicles are operated within the laws of the State of Florida, and policies of Advent Health; ensures vehicles are maintained to maximize cost effectiveness and productivity.

  • Safely arranges transportation of biological specimens, equipment, supplies, reports and similar items or related paperwork according to defined schedule and department expectations.Fills in (courier role) in emergency situations.

  • Manages staff and performs various activities to facilitate operation of laboratory to meet client’s needs, including scheduling of staff, dispatch, coordination of external couriers and similar activities.

  • Develops and implements staff training programs. Utilizes feedback from Employee Engagement surveys, employee rounding, and other managerial resources to create productive and engaged work environment.

  • Develops and oversees functionality and service associated with the electronic tracking system

  • Responds quickly to issues identified by clients and department managers; skillfully communicates to the appropriate administrator(s) creating an atmosphere of cooperation.Provides prompt resolution to customer- service issues within guidelines.

  • Attends various meetings and participates in different committees associated with laboratory courier services.Participates in, and has knowledge of, laboratory and hospital Performance Improvement activities.

  • Adheres strictly to Advent Health Compliance Plan and the rules and regulations of applicable regulatory authorities; protects confidentiality of patient information and results at all times.

  • Properly follows safety policies, including hand washing. Understands and adheres to Chemical Hygiene plan.

  • Provide oversight, direction and accountability to all logistic processes and ensures team adherence to company policy and procedure.

  • Monitor KPIs and ensure staff meets job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining

  • Achieve financial objectives such as meeting annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.

  • Accountable for daily operations of mailroom team. Manages contracted services including, but not limited to, USPS, Pre-sort, and 3rd party mail services.

  • Communicate daily with supervisors in each region to coach and give direction.

  • Provide regular feedback to Director on team performance.

  • Perform all the listed duties as needed to ensure the accuracy and on time delivery for all requestors

  • Perform other duties as assigned or directed by management.

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed :

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Courier/Logistics Department experience or other related experience

  • Three years of work experience in Supply Chain Management or related field

  • One year of supervisory/management experience

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

  • Prior experience working in production/goal oriented environment

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:

  • Current, valid Florida Driver's License, Class E

  • Driving record in accordance with Advent Health policy
