Job Description:

The Payroll Operations - Dayforce Senior Technical Lead will focus on the system requirements for activity related to new payroll integration projects and ongoing review of existing inbound (e.g., time records, benefits information, employee information) and outbound (e.g., payroll outputs, compliance reports) interfaces.

Project responsibilities include:

  1. Facilitation of requirements gathering, design and configuration of the Dayforce solution to meet documented requirements.
  2. Setting and managing timeline expectations.
  3. Providing guidance to Payroll team, identifying risks, and communicating issues to the Payroll Tech Lead.

Dayforce Senior Technical Lead responsibilities include:

  1. Oversees and maintains the optimal function of Dayforce, which may include configuration, development, maintenance, and upgrade to applications, systems, and modules.
  2. Responsible for technical support, troubleshooting, and guidance to HRIS users.
  3. Responsible for identifying system improvements and enhancements; recommends and configures/implements solutions.
  4. Manages permissions, access, and security settings that are owned by the Payroll team.
  5. In-depth experience of Dayforce Integrations includes Core HR and Data, Workforce Management, Payroll.
  6. Solid experience of end-to-end Payroll process, calculation, and services.
  7. Experience with leading test phases, including test planning, creating test scenarios, executing testing, documenting defects, reporting testing metrics.
  8. Advanced project management and organizational abilities.
  9. Ability to engage with multiple projects at the same time and manage priorities.
  10. Ability to lead and facilitate workshops and sessions.
  11. Ability to translate business needs into functional and technical requirements.
  12. Ability to work closely with third-party vendors.
  13. Contribute to payroll insight and solutions.
  14. Analysis and solving of increasingly complex problems.
  15. Strong analytical and research skills.
  16. Ability to effectively communicate requirements and updates to Payroll Leads.
  17. Document all new learnings or changes in processes in the standard format and seek relevant approvals on a periodic basis.
  18. Participate in process improvement initiatives or special projects as assigned.
  19. Follow established policies, procedures, and methods.
  20. Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  1. Minimum of 3 years Dayforce Technical experience.
  2. Minimum of 3 years payroll processing experience.
  3. Minimum of 3 years state & local payroll tax experience.

Preferred Qualifications/Skills:

  1. Payroll Compliance.
  2. Business Operation Management.
  3. Payroll Planning and Distribution.
  4. Payroll Process Design.
  5. Workday HRIS Experience.
  6. Product certification in at least one Dayforce HCM module (Core HR, Time) is nice to have.
  7. Process Improvement, Program Management, Test Execution and Management.
  8. Understanding of relational databases and SQL.
  9. Understanding of common human capital management (HCM) business practices.
  10. Understanding of different industries and how Dayforce implementation best practices apply to business practices.
  11. Experience in business process mapping.
  12. Experience in change management.
  13. Proficiency with MS Office Suite - Excel, Word, PowerPoint.

  2. Excellent communication skills to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  3. Ability to explain complex technical concepts in simple terms.

  6. Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including HR, IT, and finance.
