Position: Project Manager – BioPharma GMP / Biologics
Location: Linden, NJ
Position Summary:
The Spear Group has an excellent opportunity for an experienced BioPharma Project Manager to lead a GMP groundbreaking new building project housing biologics processes. The ideal candidate will be a team leader and collaborative player with proven successes delivering excellence in project completion for a pharma client / owner in a collaborative environment. The position will encompass clean utilities, lab spaces, and clean rooms. The ideal candidate will be a Mechanical Engineer or a Chemical Engineer or Electrical Engineer or any other engineering / architecture discipline with experience delivering biopharma extensive renovation and / or new build goals for hand over to client. The Project Manager will be responsible for the capital project and ensuring the project is delivered on time, on budget and with the proper safety and quality attributes to successfully meet client expectations. The Project Manager will lead all phases of project delivery from inception to close-out. The successful candidate will be client facing with proven communication and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pharmaceutical lab & office renovation/new construction experience
- Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
- Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress.
- Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques.
- Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Perform risk management to minimize project risks.
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
- Meet with clients to take detailed ordering briefs and clarify specific requirements of each project.
- Delegate project tasks based on junior staff members’ individual strengths, skill sets and experience levels.
- Meet budgetary objectives and make project constraints based on financial analysis.
- Develop comprehensive project plans to be shared with clients as well as other staff members.
- Develop spreadsheets, diagrams and process maps to document needs.
- Lean construction experience is a plus (TAKT, pull planning, TVD, pre-fab).
- GMP experience is required.
Required Experience and Education:
- Min 15 years’ experience running biopharma capital projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Chemical/Mechanical/Electrical engineering) or related discipline.
- Prior pharma experience required.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent computer skills.
