The Senior Manager, Tax Technology will report to the Director of Tax Technology and play an integral role in the Tax function. The Senior Manager, Tax Technology will be responsible for defining and driving an overall strategy to maximize the accuracy of indirect tax calculation (including tax categorization).

The primary focus of the Senior Manager, Tax Technology is end-to-end tax accuracy solutions (including, but not limited to tax categorization and the collection of additional data attributes) for sales and use taxes, consumption-based taxes, gross receipts taxes, and VAT.

  • Develop and execute on a strategy that will have a high impact on our business, merchants and customers.

  • Actively involved in solving issues around Categorization

  • Think outside of the box and design and implement advanced technology solutions.

  • Get excited about challenges and like to get involved to understand the problem and then collaborate on solving the problem with various stakeholders and teams

  • Direct a team to support the ongoing effort to monitor and maintain tax accuracy / tax categorization solutions

  • Be resourceful in finding skill sets within the team and company to support the project needs

  • Enjoy working with Tax professionals and constantly learning about the tax challenges that needs to be addressed and how they impact our company and our customers

  • Draft requirements and obtain buy-in and sign-off from stakeholders

  • Participate in the hiring process, including identifying staffing needs and drafting job descriptions.

  • You have 10+ years of experience in a corporate tax department, public accounting or technology consulting firm or other related experience. Experience with Indirect Taxes in the US and familiarity with other Countries Indirect Tax regimes.

  • Hands on experience in the implementation of Marketplace Facilitator laws in various jurisdictions. Experience with global implementations preferred

  • Hands on experience in solving Tax Categorization challenges

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Experience in establishing post launch / maintenance processes

  • Not afraid to challenge the status quo and have experience in operating in highly collaborative environment with multiple stakeholders

  • Large project management experience, including creation of project plans, milestones, and due dates.

  • Development of testing and monitoring strategies

  • Direct engagement with Engineering teams on product development with an understanding of software development processes. Project planning and execution skills that include reviewing technical design documents, estimating, and scheduling.

  • Highly organized and care about the details and understand both the big picture and the details.

  • Ability to mentor, grow and challenge a team of professionals.

  • Accounting, Finance, Information technology or Computer Science degree.

  • You have a strong moral compass and compassion for others.

  • Compensation commensurate with employee qualifications, experience, and other factors including geographic location, market, and operational factors.  

  • Pay Range: $70-$85/hr. (DOE)
