Description
Illuminus is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual with excellent collaboration and organizational skills to join our team as a Senior Accountant - Senior Living . In this role, you will responsible for preparing reports and providing financial information and analysis to management by researching and analyzing accounting data for multiple entities.
- Prepare financial statements, tax returns and cost reports in a timely manner and in compliance with US GAAP standards.
- Prepare general ledger entries by compiling and analyzing information.
- Prepare the balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports. Summarize account information and identify trends to assist business leaders in decision making.
- Maintain accurate records to substantiate financial transactions and follow record retention guidelines. Provide documentation to auditors when requested.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts by collecting and analyzing account information.
- Maintain financial security by following internal controls.
- Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
- Assist in the development of the annual budget and update financial projections for management.
- Identify, develop, and lead accounting & finance department process improvement projects.
- Maintain fixed asset records and documentation including construction in progress projects. Analyze and report fixed asset information to management.
- Provide support and training to other Accounting and Business Office team members as a subject matter expert in the accounting systems and IT solutions used by the organization.
- Maintain a positive image of Illuminus in the community keeping in alignment with our mission, vision, and values.
- Engage and promote effective communication with management, co-workers, residents and family members/personal representatives.
- Maintain positive attitude and approach to ever changing work environment which includes leveraging new technology and process improvements.
- Research complex accounting transactions and understand various legal entity structures.
- Assist in assimilation and onboarding of new entities through M&A.
- Perform other similar duties, as needed or as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, CPA preferred.
- Minimum four years of experience as an accountant.
- Microsoft Suite knowledge required, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Report preparation and general ledger accounting software experience required.
- Excellent communication and human relation skills.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment, make sound decisions and exhibit flexibility when needed.
- Work cooperatively and mentor other members of the team.
- Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work schedule to ensure all deadlines are met.
