Job Description

The Solution Architect presents MCPC’s technical solutions to our clients. A Solution Architect must be able to expand the discussion to cover an end-to-end technology solution, elaborating on all aspects of the product and services offering from MCPC. As a member of the sales team, the Solution Architect works collaboratively with the MCPC Account Manager to identify the customer requirements, design a product set or solution that meets those requirements, evangelize the proposed solution, and adjust the solution as necessary for the customer.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities :

  • Engaged in the sales process working collaboratively with Solution Consultants on qualified opportunities; interacting with key partners, stay current on industry best practices, emerging technologies, and manufacturer’s technology offerings (50%)
  • Billable services through assessments, designs, and technical project oversight (50%)

Key Outcomes of the Position :

  • Customers advised on issues related to the solution design and deployment including complexity, trade-offs, and technical and business process impact
  • Contribute to MCPC’s trusted advisor status with customer base
  • Generate follow-on business resulting from successful project engagements
  • Increase product and services gross margin
  • Services and solutions meet/exceed Customer expectations

Document Creation :

  • Products, services, or solutions sold are relevant, effective, right fit, and complete for the customer.
  • Delivered proposals are technically complete, able to be engineered, competitively priced, and in compliance with MCPC defined practice standards.
  • Generate Proposals or Statements of Work utilizing MCPC’s standard tool set which include qualification questions, WBS, and OEM configuration tools.
  • Create solution designs with Visio and/or other documentation tools.
  • Build project estimates in compliance with practice defined templates and pricing strategies.
  • Technology Brief (how will newly introduced technology could benefit the client)
  • Prepare pre-sales materials required to assist in the sales process.

Technical Responsibilities :

  • Stay current on relative technology, MCPC service offerings, value propositions, representative case studies, and pay special attention to those technical areas that complement the MCPC identified practice areas.
  • Based upon information garnered from meeting with a client, identify the appropriate products and services that best fit the stated needs, goals and desires expressed.
  • Maintain vendor relationships on a regional level to ensure maximum sales presentation effectiveness, goodwill and the reception of leads.
  • Billable services through assessments, designs, and technical project oversight.
  • Work with the delivery team to map a design into a solution roadmap to help customers solve their objectives.
  • Timely communications with MCPC Project Management regarding timelines and budget.
  • Effectively communicate solutions architecture to the customer, third parties and project teams.
  • Participate in account relationship and issue management activities with Solution Consultant.
  • Maintain the appropriate sales and technical certifications.

Experience and Educational Requirement:

  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Business, Engineering, or related field.
  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) in one or more areas of technology.
  • 5+ years’ experience in medium to large enterprise design.
  • Demonstrated experience in a technical architecture and design role.
  • Engineering experience a plus.

Physical Requirements:

The physical requirements of this job include frequent sitting with occasional walking around, carrying light objects, grasping and reaching for things, rare stooping/crouching, clarity of vision, speaking and listening ability. The ability to drive to and from customer appointments is required. The mental requirements of this job include general intelligence, motor coordination skills, coordination of hands, eyes and feet, verbal and numerical intelligence. The workplace environmental conditions are that of a temperature controlled and clean office setting.

Regular attendance and punctuality are an essential job function of this position. In addition, the duties of this job need to be performed inside of our offices (unless authorized due to extraordinary circumstances by your manager and Human Resources) for the purpose of interaction and collaboration with colleagues and/or clients as necessary, the ability to adequately supervise the associate, and/or the availability of necessary equipment utilized for regular job functions. MCPC allows four pre-approved work at home days annually.
