Shure is looking for a Manager, Test Engineering with a passion for Quality.

Shure has a range of exciting projects in the pipeline, and we are seeking a leader in this space to manage a team of Test Engineers in the Chicagoland area who will play a crucial part in our quality engineering initiatives.

This role will be onsite with flexibility at our Skokie, IL location.

Responsibilities
    Conferencing Ecosystem Experience: Demonstrated experience and expertise in the wider conferencing domain. Your in-depth knowledge will be crucial in ensuring our testing strategies and processes are aligned with the unique challenges and requirements of conferencing environments. Your specialized skills will help us deliver flawless communication solutions that meet and exceed customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Focus: Align testing strategies with customer needs, ensuring the delivery of top-quality and timely products.
  • Masterful Test Planning: Craft detailed, comprehensive, and meticulously structured test plans and test cases.
  • Innovative Test Execution: Design, develop, and execute both manual and automated test cases with creativity and precision.
  • Technical Leadership: Apply your extensive knowledge in test engineering to guide and support your team effectively in technical discussions and decision-making processes.
  • Team Development: Foster an environment of continuous improvement and learning, providing mentorship and guidance to your team members.
  • Project Management: Lead and manage testing projects to achieve superior outcomes within set timelines, maintaining a results-driven approach.
  • Proactive Problem-Solving: Anticipate and address challenges promptly, ensuring project continuity without compromising quality.
  • Effective Communication: Communicate complex technical concepts and strategies to your team and stakeholders, ensuring alignment with broader objectives.
  • Strategic Execution: Support strategic planning and execution efforts per the department's objectives, demonstrating a strong bias for action.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; a master's degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 7 years of total experience in quality engineering, system testing, or a related technical field. About 2+ years in a quality leadership role leading and growing a geographically dispersed team.
  • Extensive experience with conferencing platforms and applications.
  • In-depth understanding of conferencing system architectures, protocols, and integrations.
  • Proven experience in testing and ensuring the quality of system solutions, including functional and non-functional test coverage.
  • Audio Quality: Expertise in testing and validating audio quality, including noise cancellation, echo reduction, and audio clarity in various scenarios.
  • Camera Quality: In-depth knowledge of camera technologies and experience in testing camera quality.
  • Video Quality: Proficiency in assessing and ensuring high video quality, including resolution, latency, and smoothness of video streams, as well as optimizing video performance for different network conditions.
  • Familiarity with conferencing hardware and software interoperability issues and solutions.
  • Ability to develop and execute comprehensive test plans that address the unique requirements.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and resolving complex issues in live environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and support engineers, to enhance products.
  • Experience with agile methodologies and using AI tools and frameworks.
