HIV Intervention and Planning Lead Specialist

Job Summary

Manages and ensures effective research project completion. Oversees complex and concurring projects and supervises team. Coordinates research operations, answers inquiries, and prepares research reports and materials. Designs and implements an organizational system, quality control procedures, and systems for maximum utilization of project resources. Implements communications plans, obtain applicable regulatory approvals, and ensure adherence to regulations, policies, and procedures.

Essential Functions

The HIV Intervention and Planning Lead Specialist is responsible for coordinating the implementation of HIV prevention and care projects as well as supervising and facilitating integrated HIV planning with the Division of HIV Disease and HIV Planning Group. Responsibilities include project coordination for multiple programs, including day-to-day management; community and service advisory board development and facilitation; assistance with intervention and program design; needs assessment data collection and analysis; supporting capacity building training delivery, and; development and implementation of process evaluation procedures for any and all programs overseen. Chief among these programs, the Intervention and Planning Lead Specialist is responsible for supporting the work of a statewide planning body for HIV prevention and care. Responsibilities include meeting facilitation, needs assessment data collection and analysis, staff leadership and organization meeting preparation, community engagement, overseeing priority population recruitment, and liaising with state funders and other partners. Additional responsibilities include assisting in the writing and diffusion of final reports, publications, and presentations and complying with legal and ethical requirements associated with working with youth and other marginalized and under resourced communities.

Physical Effort

Light physical effort required. Duties are primarily sedentary. May be required to occasionally move objects up to 25 pounds. Must be able to conduct meeting facilitation. This position requires the ability to travel, including overnight travel.
