We are seeking a talented and experienced Proposal Writer to join ARKA’s Advanced Communication and Mission Applications (ACMA) team. The proposal writer will be responsible for writing, editing, and formatting clear and compelling proposal packages for RFPs and RFIs, including technical, management, cost, past performance volumes.
This position requires an impeccable attention to detail, the confidence to jump in and participate in proposal efforts under tight deadlines, and the spirit to collaborate effectively with our engineering and project teams.
A successful candidate will have the ability to research, develop, organize, and craft compelling narratives describing ARKA’s technical approach. Applicants should be excellent communicators and have the ability to drive deliverable to closure on schedule.
This position is located onsite at our Colorado Springs, CO office. Please be prepared to send a portfolio with writing samples.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research and write compelling original proposal content and review, edit, and rewrite content developed by others. Integrate content into final documents.
- Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and graphics.
- Monitor proposal content to ensure compliance to RFP requirements, evaluation criteria, and technical specifications.
- Demonstrate unparalleled attention to detail while proofreading, editing, and finalizing proposals within established schedules and deadlines.
- Design and develop professional templates in line with meticulous attention to company branding in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Adobe Creative Suite, for internal and external use.
- Manage program deliverables and proposal content and documentation and libraries, ensuring content is accurate and updated on a regular basis.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communications or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in a proposal/technical communications/content creator role.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, including MS Word and PowerPoint.
- Demonstrated ability to work across departments and companies with effective communication, leadership, and project management skills.
- Excellent writing, grammar, and spelling skills.
- Proven attention to detail and schedule management.
- Ability to work in a deadline-conscious, results-driven environment and manage multiple projects at one time.
- Prior experience with DoD and or Federal Government contracting experience.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Adobe InDesign, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Photoshop, SnagIt, and SharePoint.
- Talent for creating and/or conceptualizing visuals that convey complex information and proposal themes in a persuasive and engaging way.
- In-depth understanding of the Shipley (or related) proposal process
