Overview:
The Environmental Sr. General Attorney (“Counsel”) will have substantial general environmental law expertise and will give advice to BNSF Railway’s internal clients across the company with a particular focus on Environmental Remediation, Environmental Operations, Environmental Permitting, and HazMat.
Experience:
7+ years of experience focused on general environmental legal matters, with general knowledge of the CAA, NEPA, CERCLA, RCRA, and the CWA. Knowledge of Lexis research system and web-based legal research tools, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office suite. Strong working knowledge of NEPA and associated legal issues is a plus. Experience or knowledge of HazMat issues and regulatory agency oversight of HazMat response. Exhibit deep subject matter expertise in U.S. environmental regulations, permitting and compliance enforcement matters, experience in environmental due diligence and remediation projects, as well as real estate transactions and commercial leasing matters. Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited Law school with a strong academic record and a current active bar law license.
Location/Relocation:
Fort Worth TX; Hybrid model: 3 days in office.
Compensation:
$175K base plus decent cash bonus and equity DOE.
