Ramboll is seeking an experienced Ecologist or Biodiversity Specialist. Our biodiversity and ecology team supports clients with a wide range of environmental issues including biodiversity and ecosystem services, nature-based solutions, risk and impact assessment, and ecological data science. This job will require travel to field sites, conferences, and internal meetings. Travel may be national or international and may be up to 20% of time.

Your new role

As our new Senior Consultant, you will be part of an interdisciplinary team providing innovative and sustainable solutions to an international client base.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Conducting comprehensive literature reviews about specific topics
  • Summarizing technical documentation
  • Gathering, harmonizing, and analyzing different types of data from multiple sources
  • Implementing various types of statistical models and generating figures and tables
  • Writing of reports, white papers, and peer-review manuscripts
  • Planning environmental sampling and monitoring studies
  • Collecting field data and overseeing data collection
  • Presenting results to clients and stakeholders
  • Actively participating in a growing network of Ramboll sustainability practitioners that span our services across environment/health, energy, and water

About you

These include:

  • M.S., or Ph.D. in a discipline relevant to ecology and biodiversity such as terrestrial or marine ecology, wildlife or restoration ecology, forestry, environmental science, or bioinformatics.
  • At least 2 years of ecological or related experience (graduate work accepted), including field work.
  • Experience with environmental or ecological data science and proficiency in at least one programming language (preferably R or Python).
  • Experience with interactive dashboards (Shiny or PowerBI).
  • Outstanding problem-solving and organizational skills.

Salary Transparency Information

At Ramboll, your base pay is only part of your overall total compensation package. At the time of this posting, this role is likely to be compensated at an annual base salary between $80,000 and $100,000. Actual pay may be more or less than the posted range, depending on numerous factors, including experience, geographical location, internal equity, market conditions, education/training and skill level, and does not include bonuses, overtime, or other forms of compensation or benefits.
