YOUR ROLE
CEVA Logistics is currently seeking a Corporate Manager, Internal Auditor for North America, based in Houston, TX. In this role you will enhance and protect organizational value by providing risk-based and objective assurance, advice, and insight. The internal audit activity helps CEVA accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of governance, risk management, and control processes.
As Manager of Internal Audit for NORTAM & LATAM regions, you will be responsible for supervising a team of senior auditors to ensure that internal audit engagements are effectively and efficiently executed (from planning to reporting, including follow-up). You will oversee audits of various types (e.g., operational, financial, compliance, IT) and perimeters (legal entities, corporate functions, operational sites, projects). Your main perimeter will be NORTAM & LATAM, however you will be involved in reviews in other regions as well as GHO.
Based at the CEVA Regional Head Office in Houston you will report to the Audit, Risk and Control Leader and you will be part of the CEVA audit management team.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
- Be the primary interface and referent of the internal audit department for NORTAM & LATAM Region.
- Establish and maintain an effective interface with:
- CEVA NORTAM and LATAM executive leadership;
- Regional Product Lines and support functions leaders;
- CMA CGM Internal Audit management in LATAM & NORTAM.
- Define and manage the scheduling of internal audits in accordance with the annual audit plan and on an ad hoc basis. Ensure that all audit missions are adequately staffed.
- Supervise audit execution during all phases, notably preparation, fieldwork, reporting & follow-up. In particular:
- Drive the risk assessment and the fine tuning of audit scope and work program;
- Supervise the work-scope assignment to the mission team;
- Oversee the audit execution, review the work done and challenge auditors’ conclusions;
- Draft clear, concise, and impactful audit reports.
- Ensure respect of CEVA audit procedures and the IIA International Professional Practices Framework.
- Play a major role in developing and maintain a state-of-the-art audit methodology. Drive Continuous improvement projects.
- Team Management: Establish annual objectives, training plans and career development paths for the NORTAM & LATAM audit team.
- Assist the Internal Audit Leader in the preparation of executive committees and related periodical reporting. Annual audit plan and other executive deliverables.
- Be the referent for Risk Management activities in NORTAM & LATAM, to facilitate the development and execution of Internal Control and Risk Management activities in coordination with Global IC & RM Manager.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Education, Experience and Skills:
- Master of Science in Economics or Engineering, required.
- CIA professional certifications is highly appreciated, required.
- International experience during the academic period is a strong plus.
- At least 15 years of working experience in internal audit of multinational groups (preferred) possibly combined with external audit experience (international audit firm). Among the 15, 10 years as direct manager of senior auditors/audit managers, required.
- Exposure to international environment (short- or long-term assignments) and to executive management, required.
- Experiences in functions other than audit (either operational or support functions), preferred.
- Previous experience in the logistics business required.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills required.
- Rigorous, with a focus for detail. Able to take a step back and identify the wider picture, required.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and deliver on-time required.
