OyBar in Studio City’s is looking for a garde manger/cold line cook to join our team with work focused on salads, small plates, pickles and low-waste cooking. OyBar's food-style is creative yet approachable, with many members of our team having strong and longbackgrounds in Michelin level fine-dining and many of LA's best restaurants. Dishes feature items like House-cured King Salmon Yaki-Onigiri, Matzoball Ramen, a Wagyu-Pastrami Quesadilla and a Pickle "Bento Box" filled with an ever-changing array of fermented and pickled foods from our larder.  The cuisine is rooted in Chef Jeff Strauss's "Confused" Jewish/American upbringing and inspired by the cultural and culinary diversity of Los Angeles. An East Coaster's love-letter to the city he's called home for the last 30 years.  Praised by Infatuation, the LA Times, Eater, and more - OyBar is an innovative and welcoming environment for staff and patrons alike. This is a lively, supportive, fun, fast-paced kitchen where someone with a collaborative spirit, passionate creativity, and a can-do attitude will thrive. This position is full-time, and is primarily for dinner service.

Main focus is to maintain high food standards, a clean, safe kitchen and follow all kitchen procedures as it pertains to recipes, cooking instructions, etc. according to local Health Department standards.

Job Duties include some or all of the below:
Executing menu items as directed by Chefs
Daily food prep and recipe maintenance
Quality Control
Showing up on time to scheduled shifts
Prepping, Setting up and Breaking down
Cleaning station and kitchen during and after service
Assisting others in all positions as needed
Following food safety protocols
Maintaining and promoting a healthy, safe, respectful, positive work environment

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS NEEDED:
Professional culinary experience preferred, ideally with time in a fast-paced/high volume kitchen)
200+ covers per night
Good team player
Organized
Reliable
Plating and Presentation
Communication 
Patience
Food Prep
Serv Safe or other California Food Handler's Card current
Standing for Long Periods of Time
Knowledge of Allergens and Food Safety
Attention to Detail
Ability to Repeat Tasks
Ability to multitask, and prioritize in fast-paced kitchen/service environment
Time management skills
Knowledge of California Health and Safety Standards
Intermediate to Advanced Knife Skills

May be required to lift containers of food or drinks up to 50 pounds
Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill cleaning and other tasks

Compensation: $20.00/hr + tips (depending on experience and responsibilities taken can go up from there). Employee meals and discounts.  Healthcare benefits possible.
