Description

The Health Informatics Analyst plays a pivotal role in driving the development of innovative analytics solutions for UCLA Health and Health Sciences. By gathering business needs, documenting requirements, identifying key data sources, and crafting insightful reports and visualizations, you will directly impact stakeholder decision-making.

As a Health Informatics Analyst, you will offer analytical support for health management, including profiling, health economics, and business performance metrics. Mastery of relevant software applications and a thorough understanding of policies, procedures, and constraints are essential. You will work closely with the Manager of Analytics Solutions and the Director of Enterprise Analytics to prioritize work and manage escalated issues.

This flexible hybrid role allows for a blend of remote and on-site work, requiring presence on-site at least twice a week or as needed based on operational requirements. Please note, travel to the "home office" location is not reimbursed. Each employee will complete a FlexWork Agreement with their manager to outline expectations and ensure mutual understanding. These arrangements are periodically reviewed and may be adjusted or terminated as necessary.

Salary offers are based on various factors, including qualifications, experience, and equity. The full salary range for this position is $95,900 - $222,000 annually, with the budgeted range expected to fall between the minimum and midpoint.

Qualifications

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  1. 5+ years of experience in a healthcare related organization
  2. 5+ years demonstrated expertise in MS SQL Server or Oracle
  3. Epic Clarity Data Model certification in one or more modules strongly preferred (incumbent will be required to obtain their certification within 6 months of hire)
  4. Epic build experience in a live environment strongly preferred
  5. Epic implementation experience specific to clinical workflows and order management strongly preferred
  6. Experience in visualization development with the use of Tableau and/or PowerBI strongly preferred
  7. Strong SQL Programming Skills (MS SQL Server/Oracle platforms)
  8. Extensive knowledge of data warehouse concepts, data modeling and structures, visualizations and reporting
  9. Extensive knowledge of SAP Business Objects architecture, functions, features, and capabilities
  10. Extensive knowledge of best practices regarding reporting, workflows, policies, procedures, systems and culture in the healthcare environment
  11. Strong analytical, problem-solving and metadata skills
  12. Ability to quickly learn various clinical and business domains
  13. Ability to synthesize information to identify opportunities to create new solutions and evaluate those solutions to ensure that they are effective
  14. Experience in gathering, documenting, prioritizing and tracking requirements
  15. Strong organizational skills and customer service orientation
  16. Must recognize and evaluate problems, and refer to the appropriate channels for action
  17. High functioning team skills, including active listening and rapport building
