The Payroll Specialist at CJGeo, Inc., is responsible for a variety of daily tasks and duties that encompass the payroll processing for the company. This role will report directly to the Senior Accounting Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintains all payroll operations according to company policies and procedures to include processing salary and hourly payroll
- Maintains and updates employees personnel information and pay records
- Prepare reports that include summaries of earnings, tax deductions, other deductions and non-taxable wages
- Ensures proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, liens, garnishments, and other deductions
- Resolves payroll discrepancies and answering employee payroll queries
- Processing and issuing W-2 forms to employees
- Researches prevailing wage determinations, processing prevailing wage jobs and certified payroll.
- Communicates with Project Manager and Customers for information needed for payroll processing, EEO reporting, and OCIP compliance
- Maintains accurate records and provides documentation for auditing and tax reporting purposes
- Assists with Human Resources tasks to include in-processing, onboarding , and offboarding of employees
- Assist with Job Costing
- Perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
- A minimum of 3 years payroll processing experience, preferably in a multi-state environment
- Experience using Foundation preferred
- Certified payroll and prevailing wage knowledge and experience
- High school diploma/GED required (An Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field preferred)
- The ability to process basic functions and formulas in Microsoft Excel
- Strong organizational skills
