Job Summary

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Safety Director to lead our safety initiatives and foster a culture of safety across our organization. In this pivotal role, you will ensure compliance with safety regulations, implement best practices, and promote a safe working environment for all employees.


Key Responsibilities

  • Safety Policy Development: Create and implement comprehensive safety policies and procedures in alignment with OSHA and other regulatory standards.
  • Inspections and Audits: Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits to identify hazards and recommend improvements.
  • Training and Education: Lead safety training sessions on protocols such as first aid, CPR, and emergency response to enhance employee awareness and preparedness.
  • Incident Investigation: Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Safety Program Development: Collaborate with management to design and implement innovative safety programs that promote a proactive safety culture.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Monitor and assess the effectiveness of safety initiatives through data analysis, providing regular reports to management.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to all federal, state, and local safety regulations, as well as company policies.
  • Documentation Oversight: Ensure all projects have the necessary safety documentation, including Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and site plans.
  • Safety Audits: Conduct daily safety audits and equipment inspections across multiple projects.
  • Accident Reporting: Manage accident reporting processes and follow up with healthcare providers.


Job Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), or a related field (preferred).
  • Experience: Proven experience as a Safety Director or similar role within the construction industry, with a minimum of 3 years managing safety efforts on large commercial projects.
  • Knowledge: In-depth understanding of OSHA regulations, workers' compensation laws, and relevant safety standards.
  • Certifications: "Train the Trainer" certifications in OSHA 500, 501, 510, 30-hour, forklift, aerial lift, hoisting and rigging.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in OSHA recordkeeping, case management, and software applications for data analysis and reporting (Microsoft Windows, Excel, PowerPoint, email).
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong report writing abilities.
  • Adaptability: Ability to develop tailored safety programs that address the specific needs of the organization.
  • Bilingual: Proficiency in both English and Spanish is preferred.
  • Other: Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a background check.
