Our Building Materials client is looking for several contract-to-hire Talent Acquisition Specialist in Houston, TX (Onsite, Energy Corridor). You will be responsible for recruiting blue-collar positions such as DOT drivers, equipment operators, and skilled laborers.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for completing the recruiting and onboarding end-to-end process for blue-collar positions.
  • Collaborate closely with HR and all levels of hiring managers to understand position specifications, develop recruiting strategies, and define the interview process, ensuring alignment with company needs and compliance standards.
  • Respond to inquiries from prospective DOT drivers and other positions, as well as initiate outbound calls in response to various recruiting leads, ensuring timely and professional communication with potential candidates.
  • Conduct thorough phone screenings and pre-qualify candidates for DOT driver roles and other blue-collar positions, assessing qualifications, certifications, and work history to ensure candidates meet job requirements.
  • Maintain consistent communication with candidates throughout the recruiting and onboarding process, providing support and answering questions to create a positive candidate experience.
  • Oversee background checks and coordinate pre-employment testing (such as drug tests, physical exams and DOT certifications) for all potential new hires to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards.
  • Completes Onboarding activities in Success Factors as needed.


REQUIREMENTS

  • 2+ years of experience in recruiting blue-collar positions, particularly in high-demand roles such as DOT drivers, equipment operators, and other skilled laborers.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, high-volume recruitment for Blue Collar position in the construction industry.
  • Bilingual (Speak, Read, and Write Spanish and English)
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in utilizing Applicant Tracking Systems and other sourcing tools, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and the ability to generate reports.

PREFERENCES

  • Bachelors Degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field. OR Equivalent work experience in recruitment, particularly in blue-collar industries (construction, transportation, logistics).
  • Corporate recruiting experience (Agency recruiting with be considered).
  • Familiarity with labor regulations, including DOT regulations and safety standards (preferred).
  • Experience with SuccessFactors.
