Who You Are:

Health and Safety professional with strong administrative and program management skills, capable of working autonomously to take ownership of, and make continuous improvement to Lumileds health and safety programs.


Position Summary:

Manage all aspects of health, safety, security and risk reduction (business continuity) programs for the Lumileds San Jose site as it pertains to production fab, R&D labs, and office environments. Maintain and improve upon existing programs as detailed below and make continuous improvements to streamline our processes, procedures, andprotocols, to insure the safest possible work environment for all employees.


Note:

This is an Individual Contributor role.


What You Will Do:

Environmental Engineering:

Familiar with regulatory requirements:

  1. EPA RMP
  2. EPA Title 5 Permits and synthetic minor
  3. EPA SARA TRI + Tier II reporting through CERS
  4. RCRA
  5. CA: CERS reporting (PBR, Inventory, UST, APSA, SPCC…)
  6. SWRCB Stormwater program for industrial users.
  7. Industrial wastewater discharge permits (POTW=San Jose)
  8. BAAQMD Permits
  9. Report site information (energy, water, waste) through global reporting systems Sphera.


Business Continuity & Crisis Management Team Administrator:

Maintain, update, train, and test Business Continuity and Crisis Management plans. Continually update both programs in an on-going basis to stay abreast of industry best practices.


Risk Management

  1. Interface with insurance auditors during annual or semi-annual site inspections.
  2. Formulate company’s response to insurance audit recommendations.
  3. Execute and manage implementation of agreed upon insurance inspection recommendations.
  4. Interface with Lumileds’ global risk management team to insure best value for insurance coverages.


Emergency/ Medical Emergency Response Team Administration:

Oversee ERT/ MERT programs including, staffing, interface with safety training contractor, ensure proper emergency response supplies are stocked and maintained, hold periodic drills, maintain and update procedures.


ISO 45001 Certification Support:

Support the sites recertification under ISO 14001 & 45001.


Safety Training Database:

  1. Administer safety training database and computer based training system for all Lumileds San Jose employees.
  2. Schedule required in-person training programs such as forklift, confined space, and fire extinguisher training programs.


New Hire Employee Orientation:

Hold new hire employee safety orientation sessions as required, covering all pertinent areas of the EHS&S function.


Safety Inspection Program:

Provide guidance to departmental safety audit coordinators, report results and delinquent action items from audits, maintain KPIs associated with auditing.


LEAN Safety / Behavior Based Safety Program Management

  1. Coordinate efforts to maintain and improve upon the LEAN and BBS programs at Lumileds.
  2. Implement continuous improvement efforts for both programs as necessary.

  28. Post-Earthquake building inspect team
  29. Crane Safety
  30. Behavior based safety program.


Pay Range Data:

We expect to pay within the range of $133,200 to $160,000 per year for this role. This range represents base salary and does not reflect benefits or variable pay where applicable. Actual base salaries reflect several factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, experience, education/certifications and specific work location.

Education (Minimum Level)

  • Bachelor's


Field of Study

Environmental Engineering (Health and Safety Specialization preferred) or Chemical Engineering or Related Fields; Master’s Degree preferred


Years of Experience (Minimum)

5 - 7 years


Licenses / Certifications

  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification a plus.
  • ISO 9001 auditor certification a plus.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a semiconductor lab environment or similar manufacturing or R&D lab environments preferred.
  • Specific knowledge and experience in participating in either OHSAS 18001 or ISO 45001 certifications would be a plus.
