Job Description
The Payroll Specialist is responsible for bi-weekly hourly payroll processing, reporting, and documentation. This role will assist with accounting and HR administrative functions as assigned.
Payroll
  • Input and tracking of maintenance time to work orders
  • Bi-weekly hourly payroll processing and reporting
  • Documentation retention
  • Union dues reconciliation and transfer
  • Administrator for the automated hourly time collection system
  • Assist with various accounting clerk duties when not processing payroll
Human Resources
  • Assist with benefits administration, including enrollments, terminations, and COBRA notices
  • Assist with company event planning and execution when able to
  • Filing of hourly employee records
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Payroll experience in a manufacturing or union environment is preferred but not required.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and a commitment to outstanding customer service.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Detail-oriented with a knack for handling confidential information with care.
  • Personal Protective Equipment is required in the mill environment.

Additional Information
The Payroll Specialist is a salaried non-exempt position. Pay range is $42k to $50k per year depending on experience and education.
