The General Manager is responsible for complete oversight of the entire facility including operations, sales, marketing, HR, and customer service. The GM will create a culture of accountability to our Core Values, develop the leadership team, improve efficiency across departments, increase company profits, and fine-tune areas of needed development. The GM will work closely with the company owner daily being the liaison with other managers and staff to achieve and execute business goals and objectives.
Compensation:$60,000 - $65,000 yearly

- Implement & develop strategic plans for optimized productivity
- Review and improve organizational effectiveness by implementing and developing processes, overseeing employees, establishing a highly motivational work environment, and implementing innovative changes

- Seek out opportunities for expansion and growth by developing new business relationships
- Provide guidance and feedback to help others strengthen specific knowledge/skill areas
Responsibilities
- Foster and drive a sales culture focused on relationship-building with customers
- Ensure and train staff on high-level customer service standards handling all customer complaints with empathy and solution-oriented
- Oversee day-to-day operations, assign and train staff to achieve daily performance goals and ensure their completion, and accomplish your own P & L goals and KPIs
- Recruit, onboard, and train high-performing employees to achieve objectives for sales, efficiency, and quality care of our pets
- Maintain staff timelines to ensure tasks are accomplished efficiently by monitoring payroll to a budget
- Develop, implement, and maintain budgets for payroll, overhead, and supplies
- Oversee and review performance with employees regularly and enforce all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines, training programs, and cultural values set by the company
- Resolve internal staff conflicts efficiently and to the mutual benefit of all involved
Required skills and qualifications
- Proven success in a general managerial role of 10+ years or similar role
- Previous experience driving sales and KPIs in a service-based industry
- Previous professional dog handling preferred but not required
- Strong decision-making ability
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and delegation skills
- Proven ability to develop and achieve financial plans
- Ability to motivate and lead employees, and hold them accountable
- Strong working knowledge of operational procedures
Preferred skills and qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in business management or related field
- Experience in conducting performance evaluations
- Working knowledge of human resources processes and basic administrative tasks
Past Experience Required:
- 5+ years of sales/marketing in a service industry, hospitality, or relevant industry
- 5+ years of face-to-face customer service
- 10+ years in a managerial role preferably GM experience
- 20+ years of working history
- An affinity and passion for dogs and cats
