Location: North Houston, TX

Travel: Up to 20% as needed

Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager with a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with commercial estimating, be comfortable reading and interpreting plans, and be skilled with numbers. This role requires working from our office daily, with with opportunity to travel (up to 20%) as needed.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and overseeing commercial construction projects from start to finish.
  • Support the preparation and management of project budgets, schedules, and timelines.
  • Work with the estimating team to provide accurate project cost estimates.
  • Review and interpret construction plans and specifications.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other project stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.
  • Monitor project progress and address any issues that arise during construction.
  • Prepare and present progress reports to senior management.
  • Ensure that all work complies with company policies, safety standards, and client requirements.
  • Assist in managing change orders and addressing client concerns in a timely manner.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3 - 5 years of hands-on experience in commercial estimating and project management.
  • Strong understanding of construction plans, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel; experience with construction management software is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Positive attitude, forward-thinking, and confident in decision-making.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Open to travel up to 20% as required for project site visits.
