ICF primarily operates in the U.S. federal, state & local government markets.The roleReporting to the Corporate Controller, ICF is seeking to hire an Assistant Corporate Controller (Senior Director level) Accounting Policy. The Assistant Controller, Accounting Policy is a key leadership position, and expected to provide operational and thought leadership in the areas of U.S. GAAP and SEC rules and enhance the newly constituted Technical Accounting team.This position offers excellent growth opportunities within a progressive and fast-growing company.ResponsibilitiesThe Assistant Controller, Accounting Policy will be the subject matter expert on accounting policies, their application, and providing guidance to the various stakeholders in the company. Specifically, this position will:Review complicated accounting issues and makes recommendations for appropriate treatment.Document and research financial, tax and regulatory reporting changes, and implementation of proposed accounting standards and determining the potential impact on the Company.Lead in the preparation of accounting transaction memos detailing significant transactions.Responsible for the preparation and updating of accounting policies and maintenance of the Company on-line accounting policy manualLead interaction with auditors on technical accounting mattersResponsible for providing training related to accounting policies and new accounting standardsAssist the Assistant Controller of SEC Reporting in the review of quarterly consolidated financial statements, and related SEC disclosures for public filings including forms: 10K, 10Q, and 8Ks.Play a key role in support of M&A transactions by providing technical accounting consulting/advisory services to support which includes due diligence. Assist with target company's implementation of acquiring company's accounting policies and any other related project management.Fulfill ad-hoc requests from members within the accounting department and other areas as needed.Minimum Qualifications and ExperienceBachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related area of focus15+ years of related experience, with a minimum of 5 years of public accounting experienceStrong, hands-on U.S. GAAP knowledge and experience with complex accounting mattersCPA requiredPrevious experience with technical accounting at a public companyExperience in managing a team and working in a matrixed organizationOther SkillsPrior assistant controller experience at a public company strongly preferred, including operational accounting experienceProven ability to lead and motivate teams to achieve organizational goalsStrong analytical and qualitative strategic thinking capabilities, and influencing and collaboration skillsExcellent writing and presentation/communication skills#LI-CCI#Indeed#er-22Working at ICFICF is a global advisory and technology services provider, but we’re not your typical consultants.
