The Deskside Technician is vital in providing technical support to employees at ABC. This role involves addressing end-users' IT needs, maintaining hardware and software, and ensuring smooth operations. The position requires regular interaction with users to troubleshoot issues and implement solutions efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Support:

  • Provide hands-on technical support within both facilities, resolving hardware, software, and network issues promptly.
  • Assist with software installations, updates, and configurations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware problems, coordinating repairs or replacements as needed.

User Assistance:

  • Offer on-site guidance and training on using various software applications and technological tools.
  • Address user inquiries related to IT systems and applications, providing clear and concise instructions.

Systems Maintenance:

  • Perform routine maintenance and updates on computers, printers, peripherals, and other IT equipment.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of technical issues, resolutions, and equipment inventory for both facilities.
  • Generate reports on recurring issues, system performance, and equipment status for review by the IT Supervisor.

Security and Compliance:

  • Adhere to company policies and security protocols, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining cybersecurity measures to protect company data and systems.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work with the IT team to execute IT projects, upgrades, and deployments.
  • Communicate effectively with users, understanding their needs and providing timely updates on issue resolution or system changes.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Deskside Technician or in a similar role, preferably within an automotive or manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and common business applications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly.
