THE JOB :

The National Sales Manager for the Northeast plays a pivotal role in driving significant revenue growth by negotiating and contracting room rates and meeting spaces for large group events of 401+ rooms during peak nights. This position requires a strategic focus on securing future business opportunities, nurturing relationships with major accounts, and maintaining a competitive market presence. Responsibilities include identifying new revenue streams, representing the company at industry events, and providing mentorship to team members. Through strategic planning and a customer-focused approach, the National Sales Manager ensures the company meets and exceeds its sales goals while adapting to changing market dynamics.

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Lead Sales Negotiations: Evaluate inquiries, negotiate rates, issue proposals and contracts, and process bookings to secure group business in line with departmental policies
  • Cultivate Client Relationships: Develop and grow both new and existing accounts to surpass revenue targets through proactive prospecting, sales calls, and client engagement activities, including site inspections
  • Market Representation: Represent the company at tradeshows and industry events, maintaining brand consistency and fostering relationships with potential clients
  • Revenue Optimization: Identify and capitalize on opportunities to maximize revenue by selling all hotel facets, aligning sales strategies with market trends
  • Strategic Territory Planning: Execute strategic plans for assigned territories, ensuring alignment with departmental goals to maintain a competitive edge
  • Team Mentorship: Foster a collaborative work environment, offering guidance and support to team members to enhance performance, encourage teamwork, and ensure compliance with hotel policies and legal requirements

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent educational experience
  • 5 years of prior relevant experience in Hotel Sales, Hospitality Sales, or Convention Sales
  • Must be able to work various shifts, including weekends and all holidays
  • Ability to develop and implement long-term strategies that align with company goals
  • Ability to a chieve established monthly individual, room night and revenue goals
  • Strong problem-solving skills to address client needs while maximizing company revenue
  • Expertise in cultivating and maintaining long-term client relationships
  • Expertise in managing contract room rates and meeting space for large group events
