Overview

As our FC Production Trainer , you will facilitate orientation and maintain training materials for new hires. Provide production, safety, Q12 Engagement, and XP training to warehouse associates.

Detailed Description

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Functions

Updates and facilitates orientation presentations, orientation materials, and fulfillment center/personalization/MindWare training curriculum
1. Maintains and updates all new hire and training assistant training checklists
2. Conducts training assistant certifications
3. Responsible for scheduling training room for training and follow up training
4. Provide safety training on the production floor pertinent to production
5. Conducts OJT for new hires on Order Filler duties specific to either picking or packing
6. Schedules and conducts follow up training for XP and Q12
7. Administers Q12 surveys and all yearly trainings
8. Monitors progress of new hires and provides support as needed
9. Perform follow up coaching as requested
10. Provide retraining and cross-training of associates on warehouse operations with established procedures as requested
11. Assist with XP kick-offs to include training of assigned associates and coaching
12. Present and/or participate in T.I.M. meetings
13. Must maintain confidentiality and project a positive professional image at all times
14. Enter employee data into the Lighthouse database
15. Responsible for the check in and orientation of temporary labor
16. May be necessary to work required extra hours based on business needs, to include weekends
17. Must be able to work in production as needed
18. May be asked to perform in a Production 3-Deep capacity
19. Regular attendance to OTC training classes is required
20. Flexible scheduling is required
21. Must be able to work with several employees at one time
22. Regular and predictable attendance is required
23. Promotes an environment that encourages employee engagement
24. Actively participate in your Impact planning sessions and work to improve your engagement
25. Works in a performance management environment
26. Abide by all policies and procedures of Oriental Trading Company
27. Must be able to attend face to face meetings on short or little advance notice
28. Work requires in-person collaboration among colleagues and contractors

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Must be able to work independently with little or no direction and schedule own job assignments
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment where situations can change at a moments notice
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Must be able to work with all levels of management
• PC skills required including Power Point Presentations, Lotus Notes, EXCEL
• Average reading and math ability
• Good communication skills
• Good people skills, confident, and approachable
• Detail oriented
• Proficiency in at least one area with established procedures under XP preferred
• Knowledgeable of the policies and procedures of XP preferred
• Proven performance under XP (minimum 80% 4-week average)
• Proven accuracy under XP
• Ability to respond with flexibility to changing work demands

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience

• Previous training experience in a multi-flow production environment preferred
• 1 year OTC production experience preferred

Other Qualifications

• Ability to walk or stand for the duration of the shift
• Ability to frequently push, squat, bend, and reach overhead
• Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Ability to occasionally climb stairs and ladders to reach assigned work area and product
• Ability to work in elevated work areas up to 28 feet high
