Director of Accounting

Responsibilities

1. Manage and mentor the company's accounting team
2. Develop and implement processes and routines for the group's controllership
3. Oversee the Monthly/quarterly close process and other accounting routines
4. Work closely with the VP finance on projects such as unifying systems processes and routines, and take an active part in the finance department's transitioning project
5. Ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements
6. Collaborate with the FP&A team to improve reporting analysis
7. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations
8. Oversee tax planning and compliance with all federal, state, and local corporate, payroll, and other applicable taxes
9. Develop and drive innovative process improvements that leverage technology and maximize overall efficiency while strengthening internal controls
10. Manage inventory accuracy and cycle counts
11. Implement SOX regulations in the company
12. Assure HR Governance/Oversight over Payroll
13. Coordinate audits and prepare the necessary documentation for external auditors

Required

• BS in Accounting required or related field
• CPA, audit experience
• 2-3 years' experience in a Controller role
• At least one role in a global company. Manufacturing experience
• Thorough knowledge of GAAP, procedures, and legislation
• Office and accounting software programs. ERP systems and Excel
• Tax Regulations - Knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations

Preferred

• Big Four accounting firm experience
• Working for a publicly traded company
• Understanding of SOX requirements
• Experience in implementing and maintaining internal controls
