Description:
The University of Illinois College of Dentistry (UIC COD) invites applications for a full-time faculty to serve as Director of Group Facilitation. The position is Open Rank either in Tenure or Non-Tenure Track in the Department of Oral Medicine and Diagnostic Sciences.

The College of Dentistry is the largest oral health college in the State of Illinois, provides care for 35,000 patients a year, and has over 500 students seeking dental degrees including DMD, PhD and Master's programs. The selected individual will be an experienced academic leader in Small Group Learning (SGL) or related pedagogies who will develop, implement and sustain SGL activities in the Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) curriculum. Additionally, the individual will have primary responsibilities in providing input and guidance related to the formation of case scenarios used in SGL activities. The Director will lead case-writing, as well as improve, administer, and advance SGL sessions throughout the predoctoral and advanced standing dental degree program. In addition, the Director will participate as SGL facilitator and grader.

Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum qualifications include a clinical healthcare degree (DDS/DMD) or its foreign equivalent or a PhD in a related field. Three years of experience in problem-based learning or related pedagogical methods in health professions education. Proven record of administrative responsibility. Experience in evidenced-based dentistry, curriculum development and interprofessional education are highly preferred.
