Headquartered in New Orleans, Louisiana, the utility will serve nearly 600,000 customers and become one of the leading natural gas providers in Louisiana and Mississippi and among the top 40 providers in the United States.

In 2023, Entergy announced that it had entered into an agreement with Delta Utilities to sell its Louisiana gas distribution business. The natural gas utility currently serves more than 200,000 customers across East Baton Rouge and Orleans parishes. In February 2024, Delta Utilities entered into an agreement with CenterPoint Energy to acquire its Louisiana and Mississippi natural gas businesses, which currently serve approximately 381,000 customers. Once the transactions are complete, Entergy's Louisiana natural gas operations and CenterPoint Energy's Louisiana and Mississippi natural gas systems will be operated by Delta Utilities. Learn more:

Job Summary

Primarily responsible for processing payroll and maintaining the employee database regarding salary and pay.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Perform daily HR activities, benefits administration and payroll coordination

• Process payroll for employees in the organization

• Maintain personnel database regarding salaries

• Align with leadership with processes impacting organization budget and expenses

• Address and resolve employee complaints relating to the payroll system

• Work with company database programs to process payroll

• Prepare reports to relevant departments about payroll, company budget and expense

• Report to department supervisor regarding daily activities and issues

Minimum Requirements

Minimum education

• High school diploma or equivalent

**Minimum experience
**

• 3 plus years relevant experience HRIS systems, payroll software, and other relevant HR tools; proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

• Preferred: experience in/with payroll systems and processes

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities

• Working knowledge of HRIS systems, payroll software, and other relevant HR tools; proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

• Resourceful and adaptable with a keen ability to prioritize, execute, and adjust in a fast-paced, evolving environment

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the company

• Preferred:

o knowledge of Human Resource Information System (HRIS) and payroll processes

o experience in/with a start-up environment and establishing payroll systems and processes
