The successful candidate will primarily focus on assisting executives with travel requests within Concur, while also providing support with various HR activities. This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative team environment and gain valuable experience in HR functions.

This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress.
The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

The Junior Human Resource Specialist will assist with executive travel requests in Concur, as well as support the IM-11 team with a variety of HR tasks. Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with the IM-11 team to collect and compile HR metrics and spreadsheets from various sources.
- Providing advisory services to management on complex HR issues and optimizing management planning.
- Assisting in developing and crafting position descriptions for IM-11 team members.
- Maintaining accuracy in vacancy announcements and coordinating with selecting officials.
- Participating in recruiting activities and enhancing recruitment strategies within IM-11.
- Maintaining organizational charts and federal spreadsheet collections through system trackers.
- Monitoring project progress and preparing reports for senior management.
- Coordinating compliance and status reports and liaising with DOE offices for efficient operations.
- Acting as a subject matter expert in functional management of automated systems for data tracking and analysis.
- Analyzing data to evaluate program effectiveness and identify administrative processes.
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- Experience with Concur for travel requests.
- Knowledge of HR best practices and procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other tracking software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to obtain a Public Trust
- Experience working in federal government HR.
- Knowledge of recruitment strategies and processes.
- Familiarity with HR systems and software.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and meet deadlines effectively.
