The Senior AML Consultant – QC is responsible for various functions related to BSA/AML/OFAC compliance. The Senior Consultant will work closely with the AML Manager with oversight of the Quality Control and Quality Assurance functions within the Anti Financial Crimes (AFC) Department and perform reviews of work performed by AFC department staff as well as BSA/AML or OFAC related activities of the banking centers and bank operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Full understanding of FFIEC BSA/AML Manual and Bank procedures regarding currency transaction reports, exemptions, higher risk customer types, associated risk factors, necessary due diligence, and red flags for suspicious activity.
- Using judgment, independently assess AFC department work, such as transaction monitoring alert dispositions, CTRs and exemptions, case investigations, and EDD reviews.
- Using judgment, independently assess frontline work regarding OFAC, REG GG, Loans and New Account documentation (CDD).
- Document quality assurance reviews for committee reporting.
- Follow and track quality assurance review findings through to remediation.
- Generate quality assurance reports.
- Assist in special projects and tasks for the department as directed.
- Compliance with any and all BSA/AML/CFT and Sanctions requirements set forth by Bank Policy and Procedure, including but not limited to timely completion of assigned training.
SECONDARY DUTIES
- Provide assistance in training and development of newly onboarded team members.
- Adherence to all bank policies and procedures, including BSA/AML.
- Review and appropriately act on new, revised or proposed laws, policies and procedures.
- Assist auditors and bank examiners with AML inquiries.
- Any and all other duties as requested by management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
This position is not responsible for the supervision of staff.
ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY
The incumbent is in a non-confined office setting in which they are free to move about at will. In the course of performing the duties and responsibilities of this position spends time writing, speaking, listening, lifting (up to 25 pounds), sitting, typing on a computer keyboard, and standing, kneeling and reaching.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in financial services operations, audits, or any equivalent combination of financial industry experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in AML with 2 years in quality control or senior analyst level position in AML.
- BSA/AML Certified (CAMS, AMLCA, CFCS, etc.) required or commitment to become certified within specified and agreed upon time period.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent time management, attention to detail, research and problem-solving skills.
- Enthusiastic, self-motivated, and effective, with ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
- Experience with Verafin transaction monitoring system a plus.
