GENERAL SUMMARY:
Under the general direction of the Project Manager, Manager, or the Director, formulates and designs the Epic systems security framework based on both user needs and a good understanding of the foundational structures of Epic software, including profiles, roles, menus, and security classes.
The ideal candidate will have significant experience using analytical skills to seek out, research and evaluate a variety of options to provide clients with high quality, efficient business processes and solutions that promote efficiency and enterprise-wide standardization. Must demonstrate the ability to mediate and bridge the relationship between technical and business stakeholders without compromising the needs of the solution users and the strategic goals of the organization.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Subject matter expert (SME) in one or more applications' capabilities and features for users, owners, and administrators of solutions.
2. Keeps abreast of new Epic security functionalities across the application(s).
3. Coordinate security-related activity across physical (buildings, grounds), infrastructure (network, servers, operating system) and application (Epic or otherwise) teams.
4. Make appropriate access decisions in conjunction with application coordinators/analysts. The access administrator works with application teams to design system-level access.
5. Help establish ownership and change delegation guidelines.
6. Limit system access to authorized staff.
7. Secure remote access.
8. Ensure that system passwords are changed regularly.
9. Establish user passwords at the operating system level, as appropriate.
10. Create appropriate security classifications with suitable menus within Epic software.
11. Create and maintain procedures for new users to receive login authorization, passwords, and training on proper system security.
12. Establish procedures for inactivating users who should no longer access the system.
13. Creates test scenarios and develops test plans to be used in testing the business applications in order to verify that client requirements are incorporated in to the system design.
14. Participates in technical reviews and inspections to verify 'intent of change' is carried out through the entire project.
15. Provides support, escalation response to production problem issues/errors. Performs root cause analysis and application resolution.
