About The Opportunity

The Star Lab Product Manager will be responsible for product vision, product strategy, and roadmaps to deliver value to our customers and measurable results to Star Lab business. The individual will work with sales, engineering, marketing, and our partners to deliver against industry-specific needs to ensure revenue growth. You will ensure that Star Lab products meet the security needs of devices at the intelligent edge and work with partners to strategically align our products to quickly scale across industries (defense, industrial, automotive, etc.).

This individual will work with sales to generate qualified pipeline growth necessary to meet or exceed the annual bookings plan and to capture new and/or emerging business opportunities. This individual will perform market research, develop a partner ecosystem, and meet with customers to ensure Star Lab products meet market demands, enhance our sales approach, expands our reach, and strengthens client relationships.

This individual will work with marketing to creatively and carefully position Star Lab’s brand, driving growth to achieve maximum customer and market penetration. This individual will perform market and competitive intelligence on a regular basis to enhance marketing and sales campaigns. Additionally, this individual will work collaboratively with sales and marketing to create a successful go-to-market strategy.

Star Lab is seeking a driven, self-motivated individual with a proven history of product success with the ability to extend into other roles to create and penetrate new markets for Star Lab products while enabling continued growth in already established markets.

Responsibilities

  1. Aggregate input from customers, sales, market research, partners, etc., and define a transformative security product for embedded linux systems.
  2. Perform market research and assess demand for products and services.
  3. Own and maintain product roadmap. Write product requirements, justify investments, prioritize the backlog, perform market research, perform competitive analysis.
  4. Collaborate with marketing team to implement and execute a go-to-market plan that will drive awareness, generate leads, and build sales pipeline.
  5. Collaborate with sales validate customer requirements, evangelize Star Lab solutions, and help drive key deals.
  6. Collaborate with the engineering to communicate market and customer requirements. Define, plan, and execute the development and release current solutions.
  7. Develop and foster relationships and deliver joint GTM strategies with key strategic partners across the U.S. and globally.
  8. Represent the company at conferences, trade shows, and other online or physical events.
  9. Coordinate the development of product demonstrations, videos, documentation, collateral.
  10. Work with marketing on outbound marketing events – trade show, seminars, webinars, etc.

About You

  1. Core Competencies & Demonstrated Success
  2. Demonstrated success and proven experience in product management for embedded security software products. Ideally in Linux kernel, bootloaders, and board level security.
  3. Effective Product Management skills including trend analysis, roadmap creation, prioritization and backlog, customer requirements gathering, market sizing (TAM/SAM/SOM), etc.
  4. Demonstrated application of business rationalization against a technical product.
  5. Demonstrated experience writing requirements for software engineering teams.
  6. Competent at public speaking in large settings, leading qualification discussions, whiteboarding, etc.
  7. Understanding of information security practices (cryptography, privilege separation, etc.)
  8. Familiarity with Defense market and prime contractors is a plus.
  9. Demonstrated ability to understand software technologies such as programming languages (C, Python, Rust) and computer architecture.
  10. Strong collaboration mindset.
  11. Some amount of travel will be required.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or related field. Technology field is a plus.
  2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in product / business development in software industry, ideally marketing to the embedded software industry.
  3. Security clearance or the ability to obtain a security clearance.
  4. Strong understanding of the software product lifecycle.
  5. Ability to develop and execute product strategies.
  6. Strong copywriting skills and attention to detail.
  7. Professional, proactive, driven work ethic.
