Your Role at BHSN:
This position assists residents of an OASAS licensed community residence to maintain sobriety as they develop their recovery and skills to transition to independent living. All shifts are stay awake shifts. This position is listed under the "Career Ladder" per New York State Office of Addiction Services and Supports Substance (OASAS) Use Disorder (SUD) Counselor Scope of Practice, and therefore, all education/training/qualification requirements, permitted functions and supervision levels will be both required and adhered too.

What your day might look like:
  • Perform duties in accordance with OASAS Counselor Scope of Practice, including:
  • Assists resident with case management needs including but not limited to transportation, linkage to other services and discharge planning
  • Maintains accurate, timely documentation in accordance with Federal/State regulations and BHSN policies/procedures, including those relating to scope of practice
  • Attends various meetings/appointments to represent BHSN and/or resident(s)
  • Assists residents in maintaining a safe clean dwelling
Your Skills and Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalency required
  • Valid NYS licensed CASAC-T credential required
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, time management and organizational skills
  • Valid driver's license, driving record that is acceptable to BHSN's insurance carrier, and transportation for required local travel
  • CPR certification within 6 months of employment
