Summary

The Finance Platform Developer role partners with the Actuary team, IT data team and primary vendor to provide data development, support, and administration for the Actuarial Modeling/Data Management Platform. This position will be accountable for managing the data lifecycle and development throughout the Actuarial Modeling process.

Key Responsibilities Will Include The Following

1. New Requests/Builds
2. Collaborate with Actuary Model Development to support any data needs for models
3. Collaborate with Actuary Valuation to support model analytics and approval workflow
4. Define backlog items and requirements for IT Data team and other supporting IT areas
5. Participate in testing and verification of technical solutions
6. Become a subject matter expert in Actuarial Modeling Platform Data Management capabilities
7. Is primary administrator of Actuarial Modeling Platform and appropriately manages required administrative tasks if needed
8. Responsible for the regular maintenance, updates, fixes and upgrades. This could include testing after upgrade or facilitating UAT
9. Ensures platform is running at optimal performance and levels
10. Maintain application run books to ensure appropriate documentation exists
11. Provide training to new and existing users on current and future functionality
12. Manage and facilitate all incidents from Priority 1 to Priority 4, which includes, but not limited to, providing support to users of applications, responding to user-based questions, tickets and assists with troubleshooting issues within platform.
13. Manage day-to-day operational and tactical aspects of multiple projects or requests
14. Provides on-call assistance as requested, for after-hours issues and support needs
15. Resolve incidents if able to, otherwise escalate as needed (provide tier-2 incident response)

Skills

1. General development skills with proven experience across 2+ programming languages
2. Understanding of Life and Annuity insurance a plus
3. Experience working with technology vendors & Actuaries
4. Demonstrates excellent interpersonal communication skills and documentation skills
5. Proven Data management skills with understanding of Data flows across different platforms
6. Able to manage work across a development team
7. Work cross-functionally within IT, with an emphasis working with a data team
8. Self-disciplined, able to work independently, but also able to take direction when necessary
9. Self-motivated to identity and resolve issues and in advancing personal knowledge
10. Hands on experience with GITLAB

Qualifications

1. An undergraduate degree in an IT related field or similar combination or education and experience
2. Experience working on Life and Annuity products
3. 2+ years’ experience in Data Integration and Data Management
4. Experience working in cloud environments
5. Hands on experience with SAS programming

Must have

1. Experience in the following technologies –Azure Data Factory and PowerBI
2. Experience in Data Integration and Data Management
3. Experience working with actuarial or finance
