Accounting ManagerTitle: Accounting Manager Job Type: Salary ExemptDepartment: Accounting Location: Mira Loma, CASupervisor: ControllerSUMMARYThe Accounting Manager is responsible for managing the accounting department and ensuring that general accepted accounting principles, company policies, procedures and practices are managed to expected standards across all branches, departments, and divisions of the entire organization. The Accounting Manager will also have oversight and accountability in the progress of projects, investigating variances, approving expenses, and ensuring project billings are issued to customers and payments are collected.Responsibilities:The following responsibilities are a general guideline and not intended to be an exhaustive list of the full scope of responsibilities. Duties and responsibilities are subject to change based on business needs and at managements discretion.Assist in the Month End Closing and reportingEnsure timely payment of company’s insurance and benefits programsManage internal accounting database systemProcess and oversee business tax payments as required for all locations and complies with local, state, and federal government requirementsReconcile Balance Sheet and designated inhouse reports such as the Work in Progress report and the Parts InventoryAssist the preparation of periodic financial statements and ensures that financial reports comply with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standardsSupport Accounts Payable department as need with posting, bank wires, reporting, etc.Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and proceduresIdentifies and recommends updates to accounting processes and proceduresMonitors the creation of project accounts in the accounting systemAudits project related records, including contracts and change ordersAuthorize access to project accountsAuthorize the transfer of expenses into and out of project related accountsReview and approve supplier invoices related to a projectReview and approve time sheets for work related to a projectReview and approve overhead charges to be applied to a projectReview account totals related to project assets and expensesInvestigate project variances and submit variance reports to managementConfer with receivables staff regarding unpaid contract billingsReport on project profitability to managementReport to management on any opportunities for additional billingsReport to management regarding the remaining funding available for projectsSupport Accounts Receivable as needed with posting payments, customer creations, collections, Respond to requests for more detail from customers, etc.Investigate all project expenses not billed to customersWorks with the Controller to review and receive approval for the write off of any accounts receivable billings that cannot be billed to or collected from customersClose out project accounts upon project completionCreate and submit government reports and tax returns related to projectsCompile information for internal and external auditors, as requiredPerforms other related duties as assignedQualificationsEducation/Additional Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related1 to 3 years or more in project accounting, accounting or related experience requiredExperience with preparing and filing business tax payments; specifically, Sales & Use Tax Reporting and Property Tax Reporting in multiple statesExcellent management and supervisory skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExcellent organizational and time management skillsProficient in accounting softwareProficient in project management softwareProficient in Microsoft Office software with an emphasis in MS ExcelWe value our Associates and offer competitive wages with great benefits such as:Medical, dental and vision insuranceShort- and long-term disability coverage (employer sponsored)Basic Life insurance (employer sponsored)Voluntary Life insuranceFlexible spending accounts401k with a company match of 50% of your contribution (up to 6% of your current salary)Career development opportunitiesAnd much, much more!Wage Range DOE: $108k to $122k
