Warehouse Assistant/CDL Driver
Wilsonart, in Tampa, currently has an opening for a Warehouse Assistant/CDL Driver position. This person will perform warehousing functions to replenish the finished goods inventory with material from the manufacturing facilities. Fill customer orders, inspect material and pack material for shipment and drives trucks as needed in the assigned department/location. Perform other tasks as required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Receives all material from the manufacturing facilities and vendors
- Checks and places materials in the correct bin
- Checks material against the manifest and reports discrepancies
- Informs supervisor of all defective materials
- Cuts down over-sized laminate to fill pending orders
- Reads, interprets, processes, and packs orders
- Performs total skid count for loads
- Assists the needs of the customer
- As needed: Drives truck to destinations and returns safely
- Maintains acceptable driving record
- Performs emergency roadside repairs
- Knowledge of computers is sufficient to perform basic customer service functions
- Knowledge of materials inventoried
- Knowledge of packing techniques
- Knowledge of proper material handling techniques
- Ability to understand and follow directions
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to drive a lift truck and operate a table saw
- Ability to read and understand customer orders
- Knowledge of Department of Transportation and state regulations and local laws pertaining to vehicle operations
- Knowledge of truck hauling procedures
- Knowledge of hazardous waste materials and safe handling procedures
- Skill in proper handling techniques for all products
- Skill in required packing techniques for all products inventoried
EDUCATION
High School Graduate or GED
One year of college may be substituted for one year of required experience
Maximum substitution of three years
Must have a valid Class B Commercial Driver's license
Hazardous material endorsement and Tanker Endorsement
EXPERIENCE
3+ years Relevant warehouse experience
1+ years Local CDL experience
No chargeable accidents in 3 years
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking/pushing/climbing and lifting material or equipment of heavy weight (>50 lbs) Examples: grounds staff and EMS
COMPENSATION: $24.02 - $28.36/HR, DOE
The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Wilsonart, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
