Job Summary:

The Revenue Analyst plays a key analytical role in helping to maximize the revenue of all revenue-producing products offered by the resort, reporting to the Senior Revenue Manager. Responsible for the analysis of pricing, strategies, and metrics in order to identify trends and opportunities as well as working with other departments within Palisades Tahoe to make informed decisions based on analytics in order to grow revenue and increase profitability. This position will have responsibility for weekly reporting in lift ticket and lodging divisions to guide pricing and inventory changes relative to supply and demand. This position will also be the local expert in report development and maintenance using Power BI within the Alterra Unified Data Platform (UDP).

The base salary range below represents the low and high end of the Palisades Tahoe Resort, LLC's salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Palisades Tahoe Resort, LLC's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term and long-term incentives and many region-specific benefits.

Base salary range: $70,000 - $80,000 per year

Essential Job Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks:

  • Analyzes current and proposed pricing, yield management strategies and performance metrics to ensure that revenue and profitability targets are achieved.
  • Regularly updates lodging yield information in the Revenue Management System and/or Property Management System including rates, length of stay requirements, management of room availability, etc., based on guidance from the Senior Revenue Manager and property GM.
  • Evaluates all current reporting, develops new reports and produces regular reports in a timely way as defined by the Revenue Management, Hospitality and core business departments. Understands both the local and corporate database structure in order to retrieve appropriate data to analyze.
  • Uses productivity software (Excel), business intelligence applications (Microsoft Power BI), complex spreadsheets and analytical tools to analyze trends, future need periods, opportunities and communicate recommendations to appropriate stakeholders to accomplish brand/market objectives and initiatives conforming to the company's business goal.
  • Completes special analysis such as variance analysis, sensitivity analysis, performance measurement, booking trends, stay patterns, booking source, etc., and is able to retrieve the data from various database sources to perform such analyses.
  • Researches competitive offerings in lodging and ski-related products.
  • Provides critical input for development of overall strategy for multiple business units and provides targeted and timely communication of results, achievements and challenges to the stakeholders.
  • Works closely with other functions: marketing, business operations, website operations, call center, hospitality, finance and operations to make informed decisions through the use of analytics.
  • Works closely with Director of Finance, Lodging GM and Senior Revenue Manager to develop, implement and analyze pricing, inventory and sales strategies for all market segments and distribution channels. Plays key role in understanding the resort's pricing and packaging strategy and how that strategy can be implemented via the use of our existing and new systems.
  • Works with other departments, including Business Operations and Marketing Operations, Sales, Marketing, Rentals, Ski & Ride and Central Reservations, to prepare pricing worksheets, including but not limited to rates, inventory and restrictions for lodging and non-lodging related products. Maintains appropriate pricing and packaging via our various systems.
  • Fosters a data-driven decision-making environment and shares best Revenue Management practices with peers and other departments.


Competencies and Job Requirements:
  • Excellent understanding of Revenue/Yield Management Concepts.
  • Advanced Excel user (pivot, graphs, formulae, VBA).
  • Strong database analysis skills with the ability to understand how data is organized in multiple systems and how to retrieve appropriate data from source systems.
  • Proficient in developing data models and reports utilizing large data sets within Microsoft Power BI.
  • Ideal candidate will have strong analytical and communication skills, attention to detail, and be proactive in reaching goals.


Education and Experience:
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Previous experience within the travel or ski industry preferred.


Preferred Experience:
  • Exposure to SMS, Duetto, Inntopia, and Delphi.
