CABOT CITRUS FARMS
Located in the central-west region of Florida, aptly known as the Nature Coast, Cabot Citrus Farms is set across 1,200 acres of pristine natural beauty. The landscape is marked by dramatic elevation changes, rolling hills, sandy soil, and a canopy of sand pines, palmetto trees, and century-old moss-covered oaks. The destination features 56 holes of golf, including two regulation-length courses, Karoo and Roost, a 9-hole course called The Squeeze, and an 11-hole par-3 course named The Wedge. In addition to golf, the property offers luxury accommodations, real estate opportunities, elevated dining, a full range of off-course adventures, and various outdoor trails, embodying a reimagined vision for Florida golf and active wellness.
Position Overview
The Director of Development will be part of a dynamic growing team embodying Cabot's values of confidence, authenticity, humility and warmth. This is a unique opportunity to work for one of the world's premier golf destination brands, during a period of rapid growth for the Cabot team. In this role, you'll work closely with the Sales, Operations, and Finance/Accounting teams to enable open communication and applicable collaboration to ensure the success of the project.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with overseeing and implementing the strategic direction and management of a large, complex development project to ensure project metrics and schedules are being met;
  • Oversee and manage the overall planning, execution, and delivery of construction projects from inception to completion.
  • Monitor and report on project progress, identifying and addressing any issues or risks that may impact timelines or budgets.
    • Work closely with the Director of Design during the design phase to ensure coordination of horizontal design, materials, construction means and methods, schedule, costs, and phasing strategies are being met or exceeded;
    • Host regular team meetings as required to track project progress and provide input to reinforce goals and objectives;
    • Serve as representative of the Cabot Collection in interactions with county & state-level governmental agencies, adjacent property owners, and the community at-large.
  • Lead and oversee a team of experienced CSL Development Team members and consultants to deliver on the project master plan, ensuring that projects are delivered on schedule, on budget and to maintain the vision as set out at the commencement of the project;
  • Ensuring team decisions are being made in a timely and entrepreneurial manner;
  • Monitor key financial metrics on projects throughout the project lifecycle to ensure financial targets are being met or exceeded;
  • Prepare and present regular project status reports to senior management and key stakeholders, highlighting achievements, challenges, and proposed solutions.
  • Develop and foster relationships between internal teams and key external stakeholders and consultants to execute on development and approval strategies.
  • Enhance process improvement for both internal and external processes to accelerate development cycle times;
  • Work collaboratively with team members and other departments;
  • Accountable for timely and accurate updates on the status of all development activites.
  • Travel as required to meet with key stakeholders and/or consultants.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • Experience working in fast-paced environments under pressure.
  • Effective leader of broad consulting teams.
  • Effective planner for prioritizing work activities but also anticipating shifts in priorities.
  • Experience in multiple components of the commercial real estate development and finance processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Project).
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Resourceful, detail-oriented and solutions-driven.
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a larger team.
  • Ability to manage multi-stakeholder projects and see them from concept to completion.
Working Conditions
  • Primarily works in an office setting, with a focus on administrative tasks, meetings, and collaboration with staff and stakeholders.
  • Works closely with various teams, including marketing, program management, and finance, requiring effective communication and collaboration.
